Shippensburg Results
PHILADELPHIA (April 30) – The 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay both advanced to the Eastern Division finals at the Penn Relays over the weekend while the Vulcans also competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg on Saturday.
The 4x400 relay of freshman
Taylor Timmons (Butler, Pa./Butler), senior
Divonne Franklin (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll), junior
Beyoncé Kelly (Edgewood, Md./Harford Technical) and junior
Malia Anderson (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) placed third with a time of 3 minutes, 52.86 seconds on Saturday in the finals. The previous day, the 4x400 relay finished third overall in the preliminaries with a time of 3:56.19. The Vulcans now boast the fastest time in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in the 4x400 relay this spring by over 1.6 seconds.
The 4x100 relay of junior
Darcie Frazier (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg), Timmons, freshman
Vanessa Damone (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) and Franklin placed fifth in the finals on Saturday with a time of 48.23 seconds. Cal U registered a time of 48.96 seconds during the preliminaries of the event on Friday.
Individually, Franklin placed 13th overall in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.62 seconds. She competed in the fourth heat on Friday with entries from Ohio State, Virginia and Penn State. Kelly also tied for 17th place in the high jump after clearing a mark of 1.61 meters (5-3.25 feet) while in a field of primarily NCAA Division I entries.
At Shippensburg, junior
Anna Ebersole (Pottstown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) reached a pair of qualifying marks for the PSAC Championships. She placed second in the high jump with a height of 1.61 meters (5-3.25 feet) on her second attempt. Ebersole also finished third in the long jump and qualified for the league meet with a personal record of 5.53 meters (18-1.75 feet). The 5-foot-7 junior established a personal best in the javelin throw on Saturday with a distance of 34.36 meters (112-9.00 feet).
Fellow junior
Kailee Bunyard (Columbia, Md./Atholton) and freshman
Jazzy Harper (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) both registered league-qualifying times in the 100-meter hurdles. Bunyard established a personal-best time of 14.72 seconds to place fifth in the finals, while Harper finished seventh overall with a time of 15.47 seconds.
In her first time competing in the event, sophomore
Madeline Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) qualified for the PSAC Championship and finished in third place with a time of 18:53.49.
Sophomore
Quintasia Streeter (Brentwood, Pa./Brentwood) and Harper both reached the conference standard in the triple jump. Streeter finished sixth overall with a distance of 11.13 meters (36-6.25 feet) on her second attempt and Harper placed seventh with a mark of 11.05 meters (36-3.00 feet).
The Vulcans return to action at the Last Chance Meet hosted by West Virginia on Saturday, May 7, in Morgantown, West Virginia.
