Cloud voted to PSAC Winter Top 10

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (April 26) – California University of Pennsylvania graduate student Jalen Cloud (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski) was selected to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Winter Top 10 on Tuesday afternoon announced the league office.

The PSAC Top 10 Awards, which are selected by the league's sports information directors, recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). The sports eligible for consider for the Winter Top 10 Awards are men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's indoor track & field and wrestling.

Cloud compiled a record-breaking winter season while being chosen the PSAC Field Athlete of the Year. He won the league title and broke the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 14.83 meters (48-8.00 feet), which was the best distance in the Atlantic Region. Cloud also received All-PSAC status by finishing third in the long jump, breaking a decade-old school record with a leap of 6.82 meters (22-4.5 feet). The 5-foot-9 standout earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) all-region laurels in both events during the indoor campaign.

A Kiski product, Cloud boasts a 4.00 cumulative GPA while pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. He completed his bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a concentration in forensic science and a minor in psychology in May 2021 with a 3.51 cumulative GPA. Cloud becomes the school's first PSAC Top 10 selection from men's track & field since the spring of 2016.

Cal U was one of only two schools in the league to feature both a men's and women's recipient on the PSAC Winter Top 10 this year. The Vulcans last featured multiple honorees on the same Top 10 in the spring of 2016.

All Top 10 Award winners from each season – fall, winter, spring – are eligible for the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards, which are given to one male and one female candidate.
