SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (April 2) – The Vulcans won four events and registered five Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-qualify marks on Saturday while competing at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock.
Senior
Divonne Franklin (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) captured a pair of individual victories and was a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay at the event. She posted a time of 12.08 seconds in the 100-meter dash to win the event by over three-tenths of a second. Franklin cruised to the victory in the 200-meter dash on Saturday, crossing the finish line in 24.82 seconds. The Philadelphia native also placed fifth while making a rare appearance in the long jump with a distance of 5.14 meters (16-10.5 feet).

Malia Anderson (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem), freshman
Taylor Timmons (Butler, Pa./Butler) and junior
Tatyana Young (Marion, Ohio/River Valley) posted a time of 4 minutes, 5.65 seconds to win the event by over four seconds.
Individually, Anderson reached the league standard in the 1,500-meter run for the first time this season after recording a time of 4:58.64 at Slippery Rock. Additionally, sophomore
Madeline Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) narrowly missed the conference mark in the event with a time of 5:01.09 on Saturday and classmate
Makaila Wade (Clairton, Pa./McKeesport) set a personal best in the event with a time of 5:28.91.
Freshman
Tatum Hoffman (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) claimed the victory in the triple jump and qualified for the conference championships with a distance of 10.83 meters (35-6.5 feet) on her third attempt. Classmate
Jazzy Harper (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) placed third in the event after posting a mark of 10.60 meters (34-9.5 feet) on her fifth jump.
Junior
Kailee Bunyard (Columbia, Md./Atholton) reached the league standard in the 100-meter hurdles for the second time this spring by finishing third overall with a time of 15.65 seconds.
Senior
Shantel Springer (East Palestine, Ohio/Springfield Local) established a pair of personal records while at Slippery Rock. She registered a top-10 finish in the shot put with a heave of 11.40 meters (37-5.0 feet) on her sixth and final attempt. Springer also posted a distance of 39.59 meters (129-11.0 feet) in the hammer throw on Saturday.
In the high jump, junior
Anna Ebersole (Pottstown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) placed third overall by clearing 1.50 meters (4-11.0 feet) on her first attempt of the day. She also set a personal record with a time of 16.76 seconds in the 100 hurdles at Slippery Rock.
Cal U returns to action on Saturday, April 9, when it competes at the Ed Fry Invitational hosted by IUP.
