Results

LEWISBURG, Pa. (April 16) – Senior Divonne Franklin (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) won a pair of individual events and broke the facility record in the 100-meter dash, plus reached multiple NCAA provisional marks, over the weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell.

Franklin captured the victory in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash while at Bucknell. She shattered her own school record in the 200 meters and won the event by over seven-tenths of a second with a time of 24.05 seconds. Franklin reset her school mark set three weeks ago by over four-tenths of a second. The Philadelphia native cruised to the victory in the 100 meters with a time of 11.67 seconds, which was 0.46 seconds faster than the field. Franklin broke the facility record in the event by one-hundredth of a second, as the previous mark was set in 2014 by Brittany Johnson of St Francis (Pa.). The three-time All-American now boasts the fastest time in the Atlantic Region this spring and sits among the top 15 in the country in both the 100 and 200 meters.

Junior Anna Ebersole (Pottstown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) also established a school record over the weekend in the heptathlon with 4,449 points. The previous mark of 4,316 points was set by Farath Raphael at the 2010 Pennsylvania State Athletic (PSAC) Championships. Ebersole placed second in the high jump with a personal-best height of 1.64 meters (5-4.50 feet), plus finished third in the shot put with a heave of 10.74 meters (35-3.00 feet) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal record of 15.84 seconds.

Juniors Malia Anderson (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) and Sydney Urbine (Centerville, Pa./Beth-Center) both qualified for the league championships in the 800-meter run at Bucknell. Anderson placed eighth overall with a time of 2 minutes, 13.58 seconds, which ranks as the fastest time in the PSAC this season. Urbine set a personal record in the event after rounding the track in 2:21.44.

In the high jump, junior Beyoncé Kelly (Edgewood, Md./Harford Technical) placed second in the event after clearing 1.66 meters (5-5.25 feet) on her second attempt at the height. Sophomore Quintasia Streeter (Brentwood, Pa./Brentwood) qualified for the conference meet in the triple jump with a distance of 11.18 meters (36-8.25 feet) on her third attempt.

Junior Kailee Bunyard (Columbia, Md./Atholoton) improved her league-qualifying mark in the 100-meter hurdles by five-hundredths of a second by posting a personal-best time of 14.87 seconds. Sophomore Madeline Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) reached the PSAC standard in the 1,500-meter run over the weekend after crossing the finish line in 4:57.59.

In addition to Ebersole, junior Darcie Frazier (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) set a personal best in the heptathlon with 4,009 points at Bucknell. She placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 26.92 seconds and ranked fourth in the shot put with a distance of 10.69 meters (35-1.00 feet). Senior Shantel Springer (East Palestine, Ohio/Springfield Local) posted a personal record with a heave of 11.42 meters (37-5.75 feet) in the shot put.

The Vulcans return to action at the Mountaineer Showcase hosted by West Virginia on April 22-23 in Morgantown, West Virginia.
