CROFTON, Md. (March 21) – The California University of Pennsylvania women's golf team holds a 15-stroke lead in the team standings on Monday after the opening round of the Crofton Invitational, which the Vulcans are hosting at the Crofton Country Club.
The Vulcans rank first in the standings after 18 holes with a 44-over 332 after featuring five golfers in the top 10 on the individual leader board. Millersville sits in second place with a 59-over 347 and West Chester ranks third after carding a 66-over 354 in the opening round.
Freshman
Madelyn Myers (Smock, Pa./Uniontown) registered a seven-over 79 on Monday and holds a one-stroke lead over the field. She recorded nine pars and one birdie in the opening round while playing par fours at three-over, which is tied for the lead in the field.
Senior
Rachel Wilson (Warren, Pa./Warren) is tied for third place with an 11-over 83 after registering eight pars in the round while playing the par fives at two-over. Freshman
Keegan Selinsky (Bolivar, Ohio/Tuscarawas Valley) posted a 12-over 84 and ranks fifth overall after the first day. She carded six pars and collected one birdie in the opening round.
Sophomore
Addi Mann (Cherry Hill, N.J/Cherry Hill East) registered six pars on Monday and is in seventh place with a 14-over 86, while junior
Lexi Tofanelli (Evans City, Pa./Seneca Valley) rounds out the team scorers with a 22-over 94 and is tied for 15th overall at the event.
As an individual, senior
Colby Roberts (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) carded an 18-over 90 behind six pars and is sitting in 10th place.
Cal U closes out the event tomorrow, Tuesday, March 22, with 18 holes at the Crofton County Club.
