MEADVILLE, Pa. (April 12) – The Vulcans trimmed over 20 strokes off their opening-round score to finish second at the Fighting Scot Spring Invitational on Tuesday at the Country Club of Meadville.
TEAM NOTES
• The California (PA) women's golf team shot a 146-over 722 (373-349) over the two-day event.
• Clarion shot the lowest score in each round and won the tournament title by 11 strokes with a 135-over 711 (363-348).
• Allegheny (PA) completed the team scorers with a 230-over 806 (420-386), while host Edinboro completed as individuals.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior
Ari Kaser tied for third overall with a 30-over 174 (92-82).
• She carded a pair of birdies on the front nine in the second round while playing in a field of 18 golfers.
• Sophomore
Amanda Woods finished second on the team and sixth overall with a 34-over 178 (92-86).
NEXT
• The Vulcans are idle for 10 days before beginning play at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on April 22.
• The three-day championship event will be held at Berkleigh Golf Club in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, for the fifth-straight year.
