FINDLAY, Ohio (Oct. 6) – The California (PA) women's golf team closed its fall season on Tuesday by competing at the William Beall Fall Classic hosted by Findlay, which featured several programs that competed in the NCAA post-season in 2025.
TEAM RESULTS
• The Vulcans shot a 194-over 1,058 (351-348-359) while playing at Findlay Country Club.
• The host Oilers, who are ranked No. 2 in the country, won the event by 13 strokes with a 33-over 897 (297-295-305) behind four of the top-10 golfers on the individual leader board.
• Grand Valley State, which is also nationally-ranked, placed second with a 46-over 910 (304-296-310) and Missouri-St. Louis finished third in the team standings at 51-over 915 (301-305-309).
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
• Freshman
Payten Leet led the team and tied for 63rd overall with a 32-over 248 (81-80-87).
• The field featured 96 golfers from 17 programs, including 11 teams that qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division II East Regional Championships which were played at the same course.
• Missouri-St. Louis junior Mayan Covarrubia earned medalist honors by five strokes with even-par 216 (66-72-78).
• She fired 13 birdies over the three rounds, including a combined 10 on the back nine.
