YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (Jan. 29) – Senior Divonne Franklin (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) won a pair of individual events over the weekend, as the Vulcans reached league-qualifying standards in six events while competing at the National Mid-Major Invitational hosted by Youngstown State.

Franklin claimed the victory in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash while in Ohio. She posted a season-best time of 59.21 seconds to win the 200 meters by over three-tenths of a second. Franklin won the 60 meters for the first time this season after crossing the finish line in 7.68 seconds, which was seven-hundredths of a second faster than the field. The Philadelphia native maintains the fastest time in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) this winter in the 60 meters and ranks second on the league's performance list in the 200 meters.

Junior Beyoncé Kelly (Edgewood, Md./Harford Technical) placed third overall, and tops among non-NCAA Division I entries, in the high jump over the weekend. She cleared a season-best mark of 1.64 meters (5-4.5 feet) on her initial attempt at the height. Kelly sits second on the conference's performance list in the event this year.

Sophomore Quintasia Streeter (Brentwood, Pa./Brentwood) finished third in the triple jump and established a personal record with a leap of 11.05 meters (36-3.0 feet) on her sixth attempt. She is one of only five individuals to reach the PSAC-qualifying mark in the triple jump.

In the 60-meter hurdles, junior Kailee Bunyard (Columbia, Md./Atholton) improved her league-qualifying time by posting a mark of 9.27 seconds in Ohio. Classmate Tatyana Young (Marion, Ohio/River Valley) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 59.21 seconds, which ranks sixth in the PSAC this season.

The 4x400-meter relay of Franklin, freshman Taylor Timmons (Butler, Pa./Butler), Young and junior Malia Anderson (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) placed fourth overall with a time of 4 minutes, 5.95 seconds. Individually, Anderson registered a time of 1:20.61 to finish in fifth place in the 500-meter run over the weekend.

Cal U returns to action in Ohio next weekend when it competes at the Bob Shannon Invitational hosted by Denison on Feb. 5.
