YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (Dec. 3) – Senior
Divonne Franklin (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships and headlined a group of seven entries that reached Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standards, as the Vulcans opened the indoor season at the Youngstown State Icebreaker on Friday.
Franklin reached the NCAA provisional standard during both the preliminaries and finals of the 60-meter dash. She posted a time of 7.58 seconds in each heat to finish behind only Youngstown State sophomore Jahniya Bowers, who won the 100-meter dash at the Horizon League Championships in the spring. Franklin also qualified for the PSAC Championships in the 200-meter dash and placed sixth overall with a time of 25.65 seconds on Friday.

Beyoncé Kelly (Edgewood, Md./Harford Technical) placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters (5-3.0 feet) on her first attempt, reaching the league-qualifying standard in the event. Sophomore
Quintasia Streeter (Brentwood, Pa./Brentwood) qualified for the PSAC Championships in the triple jump while in Ohio with a mark of 11.01 meters (36-1.5 feet) on her second attempt.

Taylor Timmons (Butler, Pa./Butler), junior
Tatyana Young (Marion, Ohio/River Valley) and Kelly placed fourth overall after posting a time of 4 minutes, 4.42 seconds.
As individuals, Young and Timmons both reached the conference standard in the 400-meter dash. Young placed 10th overall after rounding the track in 59.74 seconds and Timmons posted a time of 1:00.20 seconds in her collegiate debut.
Junior
Kailee Bunyard (Columbia, Md./Atholton) qualified for the PSAC Championships in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.31 seconds in the preliminaries at YSU.
Select members of the Vulcans will be competing at the Mike Kowal Indoor tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 4, in Edinboro, Pennsylvania.
