CALIFORNIA (March 2) – The California University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team will host fifth-seeded Gannon in the first round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament on tonight, Monday, March 2, at the Convocation Center, starting at 7:30 p.m.
TICKETS
Cal U is selling tickets for the PSAC Tournament at the cost of $10 for adults, $5 for students and PSAC students with valid ID are admitted for free.

STORYLINES
• Last Time Out: Cal U concluded the regular season with an 82-71 loss versus Gannon on Saturday while hosting Senior Day.
• The Vulcans are looking for their first trip to the quarterfinals of the PSAC Tournament since the 2011-12 campaign, while their 18 wins this year matches the most by the team in over a decade.
• The winner of the contest will travel to face top-seeded IUP in the quarterfinals of the PSAC Tournament on Wednesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m.
PSAC TOURNAMENT
• Cal U is the No. 4 seed in the PSAC Tournament and will host No. 5 seed Gannon, while No. 6 Slippery Rock will travel to face No. 3 Pitt-Johnstown in the first round.
• Top-seed IUP and No. 2 seed Mercyhurst both earned first-round byes and will return to action in the quarterfinals.
• The final four teams remaining will travel to the highest remaining seed in the PSAC East for the semifinals and the championship on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
WELCOME BACK
• The Vulcans will host a game in the PSAC Tournament for the first time since the 2007-08 season, which was when Cal U captured both the PSAC Tournament and NCAA Regional Championships.
• The 2008 post-season was the last time the Vulcans claimed a victory in the league tournament, defeating Clarion by an 82-66 margin in Hamer Hall.
• The contest on Monday will mark the first playoff game in program history at the Convocation Center.
SCOUTING THE VULCANS
• In his second season as head coach,
Danny Sancomb enters with a 26-29 record with the program and a 20-23 mark in PSAC play while guiding the Vulcans to the PSAC Tournament for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign
• Junior
Brent Pegram sits third in the PSAC in scoring with 20.3 points per game and has totaled 568 points this season, which ranks 11th all-time in single-season program history.
• Cal U is averaging 15.5 assists per game, which sits among the top-five in the conference, while ranking second with 289 three-pointers made.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
• In his first year as head coach, Kelvin Jefferson enters at 14-12 overall this season with a 13-9 record in league action after serving the previous three seasons as an assistant at NCAA Division I Old Dominion.
• The Golden Knights rank third in the conference this year with 67.6 points allowed and 7.7 steals per game.
• Gannon features three players scoring in double-figures, led by senior DeAnte Cisero with 14.0 points per game, while junior Frank Webb, Jr. closed the regular season with back-to-back 20-point performances.
SERIES
• The Golden Knights hold a 13-11 edge in the series since joining the PSAC in the 2008-09 campaign with the sides splitting the regular-season meetings the last two years.
• Sancomb holds a 2-2 record against Gannon as head coach at Cal U with both victories coming on the road at the Hammermill Center.
