ERIE, Pa. (March 30) – Facing one of the top teams in the Atlantic Region on Friday afternoon, the Vulcans suffered a 9-0 loss versus Mercyhurst in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at The Pennbriar Athletic Club.
With the loss, the California University of Pennsylvania tennis team falls to 0-2 this season with both matches being against divisional opponents. Meanwhile, the Lakers remain undefeated this year by improving to 16-0 overall with a 3-0 mark in league play.

McKenzie Wilson (Traralgon, Austraila/St. Paul's Anglican) suffered an 8-0 loss to Ivona Plecevic and Athina Tsagkaraki.
The Lakers sealed the match victory by claiming all six singles matches with a score of 6-0, 6-0. Wohar dropped her match at the first position to Gomez de Segura, who is the two-time PSAC West Athlete of the Year and was a 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American in singles play. Gallagaher suffered a loss at the second singles to Frost and Suckling fell to Jeffress at the third position, as Frost and Jeffress are slotted second and third in the regional rankings. At fourth singles, Leydig was downed by Plecevic and Uhlyar fell to Spahalic at the fifth position, while Wilson suffered a loss to Tsagkaraki at the sixth slot.
Cal U returns to action on Thursday, April 5, when it travels to face Seton Hill in nearby Greensburg, Pennsylvania, at 4:30 p.m.
