BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (April 28) – The Vulcans were eliminated from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament with a 4-0 loss at Bloomsburg in the quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon.
With the loss, the California (PA) tennis team finishes the year with a 13-11 overall record while making a consecutive appearance in the PSAC Tournament. The Vulcans also secured back-to-back seasons with a winning record, as the program tallied 27 victories over the last two years. Meanwhile, the Huskies improve to 15-5 this year and advance to face IUP in the semifinals on Friday, May 1.
Bloomsburg captured the doubles point after winning two of the three matches. The Huskies opened the session with a 6-1 win by Dasha Nakonechna and Nicole Ilkovic over senior

Sofia Rodriguez then earned a 6-4 victory at the first position, their ninth win of the spring, against Jen McDonald and Lia-Sophie Seele. Bloomsburg closed the session with a 7-5 win by Macarena Arisio and Lily Sierka over junior

The Huskies advanced to the semifinals by winning the three completed matches in singles action on Tuesday. Mungo fell by a 6-1, 6-1 count to Seele at the second position and Guldimann dropped a 6-4, 6-2 match to Ilkovic at first singles. Bloomsburg clinched the match at the fifth slot when Schreiber suffered a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Sierka.
Cal and Bloomsburg met in the PSAC Tournament for the first time since 2015.
