Box ScoreCALIFORNIA (April 10) – The No. 12 Vulcans earned the outright Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West title for the 10th-consecutive season with a 9-0 victory over Slippery Rock Thursday afternoon at Roadman Park.
The win improves the California University of Pennsylvania tennis team to 10-2 overall this season. The Vulcans finish conference play with a 6-0 record and haven't lost a match against a PSAC opponent since the 2005-06 season. Meanwhile, the loss drops The Rock to 11-11 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC West.

Ramona Czakon (Trier, Germany/Tampereen Lyseon Lukio) and freshman
Mariela Sarinana (Mexico City, Mexico/Miraflores) defeated Lauren Coggins and Kylee Woodman by an 8-0 count at the second position, while the duo of junior
Jesse Burrell (Perth, Australia/Presbyterian Ladies' College) and freshman
Kiefer Shaw (Westmount, Quebec/Centennial) claimed an 8-1 decision over Courtney Gallagher and Emily Munson at third doubles.
Cal U secured the match and the outright divisional title by claiming all six singles contests, winning five in straight sets. The No. 5 singles player in Division II, Sipkova recovered from a loss in the first set to earn a 5-7, 7-5, 10-5 win at first singles over Grbac. Czakon, ranked No. 38 in the most recent ITA singles rankings, defeated Joumond 6-3, 6-0 at second singles. Rey earned a 6-3, 6-4 win over Coggins at third singles, while Shaw secured the fourth position with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Woodman. Freshman
Veronika Mikulis (Otterburn Park, Quebec/Heritage Regional) claimed a 6-1, 6-2 win over Gallahger at fifth singles and Sarinana completed the shutout with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Munson at sixth singles.
The Vulcans return to the courts on Saturday, April 12, when they host No. 46 Grand Valley State at 8:45 a.m.
