This game marks the first time these two teams have met in the NCAA Tournament, although they have met five times in the last 10 years in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament.
These two teams last met on Feb. 6 with Edinboro earning a 60-41 victory over Cal U at the McComb Fieldhouse. Former Vulcan Kiara Brown led all scorers with 24 points and added three steals for the Fighting Scots. Forward Samantha Blazetic recorded 16 points and nine rebounds and freshman Aignee Freeland added 10 points and nine rebounds in the victory. For the Vulcans, sophomore

Irina Kukolj led the team with 12 points on four-of-six shooting.

The Vulcans will be making their 12th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first under second-year head coach
Jess Strom. Cal U qualified for the post-season during Strom's first year, falling to Edinboro in the PSAC Tournament, 77-58.
The Vulcans are led by All-PSAC West First-Team selection
Stephanie Michael (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown). The 5-7 guard leads the team and is tied for eighth in PSAC with a career-high 13.6 points per game. The senior ranks second in the conference in three-pointers made (76), three-point field-goal percentage (.388) and three-point field-goals per game (2.7). Her 33.6 minutes per game rank fifth in the conference and her 2.3 assists per game and 1.8 steals per game are second most on the team. The West Virginia native led the team in scoring 10 times while starting all 28 games.
Junior
Kate Seebohm (Millicent, Australia/Millicent) leads the team and ranks among the national leaders in assists (5.3/game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.88). An All-PSAC West Second-Team selection, she has led the Vulcans in assists in all but two games this season and has recorded at least five helpers 20 times. In eight career games against Edinboro, Seebohm has averaged 2.5 assists per game and led the team in assists five times.
Despite only starting in two games, junior
Ashley Hines (Newark, N.J./Trenton Central) leads the Vulcans and ranks among the league leaders with 7.1 rebounds per game and ranks second on the team with 9.4 points per game. The 5-10 forward led the team in shooting percentage (.563) and scored in double-digits 13 times this season.
After winning 12-straight games against Edinboro from 2002-06, Cal U has dropped the last eight contests against the Fighting Scots.
Cal U returns to the NCAA Tournament after failing to qualify for the tournament last season for the first time since 2002.

Led by veteran head coach Stan Swank, Edinboro enters the NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament ranked No. 18 in the latest WBCA USA TODAY Coaches' Top 25 Poll and as the second seed in the region. Under Swank's 26-year tutelage, the Fighting Scots have made nine NCAA Tournament appearances, 17 PSAC Tournament appearances and one Elite Eight. His 466 career wins makes Swank one of the winningest active Division II coaches and he has led Edinboro to 20 winning seasons.
Edinboro features two of the top scorers in the PSAC in seniors Kiara Brown and Samantha Blazetic. Brown leads the conference and ranks among the national leaders with 17.8 points/game. The 5-8 guard has scored in double digits 25 times and has 10 20-point games this season. A 6-3 center, Blazetic ranks second on the team and third in the conference with 14.9 points/game. She has scored at least 10 points 21 times this year and leads the team with 10 double-doubles.
The Fighting Scots will be making their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and ninth in program history.
The winner of this game will advance to take on the winner of Shaw-Glenville State on Saturday, March 16, at 5 p.m.
