Paula Jackson (Kingston, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust/Newberry (S.C.)) was selected the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, announced the league office.
Jackson posted a 0.48-goals against average (GAA) in victories over Edinboro and nationally-ranked Slippery Rock, allowing just one goal in over 186 minutes of action. She made a combined 10 saves on 21 shot attempts for a .909 save percentage.
The sophomore from Jamaica opened the week by recording her second shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over the Fighting Scots. Jackson then made a season-high six saves and allowed only one goal on Saturday as Cal U posted a 2-1 overtime victory on the road against preseason PSAC West favorite and No. 8 Slippery Rock.
For the year, including Tuesday's win over Gannon, Jackson has allowed just two goals in over 365 minutes of play for a 0.49 GAA and boasts an .882 save percentage.
Jackson and the No. 10 Vulcans (4-0) continue PSAC West play on Saturday, Sept. 12, when they face defending-PSAC Champion Mercyhurst in Erie at 5 p.m.
