ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (May 13) - For the second time in three years, the No. 12 Vulcans are advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals after earning a 5-0 sweep against Stonehill College (Mass.) in the Round of 16 on Wednesday in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
With the win, the California University of Pennsylvania tennis team improves to 23-2 overall and extends its win streak to 14 matches. The Vulcans will face No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State University (Ga.) (25-1) tomorrow, Thursday, May 14, at 1 p.m. Meanwhile, Stonehill (21-4) ends its season after making the program's first-ever trip to the Round of 16.

Anastassiya Zherdeva (Almaty, Kazakhstan) dealt Sarah Hickey and Haley McNeel an 8-1 defeat at the third position.
Cal U completed the victory against the Seahawks with a pair of straight-set wins in singles action. Fernandez collected a 6-1, 6-0 decision over White at third singles, while Kowalski earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Caitlin Ryan at the fourth position. With her victory, Kowalski (20-2) became the third Vulcan to post 20 wins in singles play this season, joining Stanila (28-4) and VanEysendeyk (26-2).
