SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (May 1) – California (PA) sophomore
Loreena Manser captured her first career league title in the long jump, broke her own school record in the event and recorded the top time during the preliminaries of both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash on Friday at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Championships.
Manser won the long jump with a distance of 6.14 meters (20-1.75 feet) on her first attempt at the league championships. During the winter, she placed third in the event to earn All-PSAC laurels in the long jump for the first time in her career. Manser also claimed the conference title in the 100 and 200 meters at the 2026 indoor championships. The Virginia native eclipsed her previous school record in the long jump last month with a mark of 6.11 meters (20-0.5 feet). Manser is now tied for No. 12 on the national performance list in the event.
The Vulcans remain fifth in the team standings following seven events with 25 points. Slippery Rock has scored in all seven events at the league meet and leads the standings with 59.5 points. Millersville ranks second with 38 points and East Stroudsburg sits third with 28 points.
In addition to Manser, senior
Alice Etienne received All-PSAC status in the long jump and the ninth time overall in her career. She placed second in the event with a distance of 5.89 meters (19-4.0 feet) on her second attempt. Etienne claimed the conference title in the long jump at the most recent indoor league championships.
Manser and fellow sophomore
Riley Tighe both qualified for the finals in the 100 and 200 meters. Manser topped the preliminaries with a time of 11.78 seconds in the 100 meters and Tighe finished third in the event with a time of 11.94 seconds. In the 200 meters, Manser paced the field in the preliminaries after crossing the finish line in 23.93 and Tighe placed seventh with a time of 25.03 seconds.
Freshman
Gianna Tewksbury scored in the discus throw after placing eighth in the event with a distance of 38.72 meters (127-0.0 feet) on her second attempt. Sophomore
Camille Neutzling qualified for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.66 seconds to place sixth on Friday.
The Vulcans also advanced to the finals in the 4x100-meter relay after finishing third in the preliminaries. The relay of Manser, freshman

Alessandra Peccon and Tighe posted a time of 47.22 seconds on Friday.
