CALIFORNIA (April 19) – The Vulcans allowed just a combined six points while capturing a pair of home wins against Slippery Rock on Sunday afternoon at Adamson Stadium.
The California (PA) flag football team rallied off 32-unanswered points in a 32-6 victory over Slippery Rock. Junior
Kimaya Williams halted a drive by The Rock near the end zone with an interception in the first quarter. The Vulcans tied the score on a touchdown reception by freshman
Emily Bellotti midway through the second quarter. Williams added a pair of touchdown receptions in the win, including one with nearly 1:30 left before halftime. Senior
Alicia Young posted an interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter and added a touchdown reception, plus another interception, in the fourth quarter.
The Vulcans recorded their fourth shutout of the spring with a 13-0 win against The Rock in the second game, which featured a pair of 18-minute halves (Game 1 utilized 12-minute quarters). Williams posted an early interception in the contest. In the second half, Young caught a touchdown pass before Alana Eberhardt added a rushing touchdown with Young catching the PAT attempt.
Note, Slippery Rock anticipates adding flag football as a varsity sport during the 2027-28 academic year.
The Vulcans will look to close out their inaugural flag football season on May 2-3 in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
