TINTON FALLS, N.J. (May 3) – The inaugural season of the California (PA) flag football team came to a close over the weekend, as the Vulcans posted a 2-1 record at the National Collegiate Flag Football League Championships held in New Jersey.
The Vulcans opened play on Saturday with a pair of victories against programs from New York. In the morning, Cal claimed a 26-7 win against SUNY-Cortland before posting a 30-20 victory against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. On Sunday, the Vulcans suffered a 13-7 loss to Siena Heights (MI), which entered the weekend having played 28 games this year in its second season as a program.
Under first-year head coach Noah Mitchell, Cal finished the spring with a 10-6 overall record.
