Guldimann receives weekly league accolades

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (March 9) – Behind her play in The Sunshine State yesterday, California (PA) senior Leandra Guldimann was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Guldimann opened the spring trip to Florida with a pair of victories in a 5-2 dual win against Minnesota Crookston on Sunday. She helped the Vulcans clinch the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-1) victory at the first slot while playing with freshman Sofia Rodriguez. Guldimann clinched the match win with a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 win at first singles versus the Golden Eagles.

A native of Switzerland, Guldimann holds a 6-3 record in singles play behind a 3-0 mark this spring while competing at the first position. She also boasts an 8-4 doubles mark while playing with three different partners.

Guldimann received the weekly league honor for the second time in her career, as she previously earned the accolade last March. She was voted to the All-PSAC West Second-Team in doubles as a junior after tying for the team lead with 16 wins in doubles action.

Cal is scheduled to play five dual matches this week in Florida, including two matches against fellow PSAC programs.
