CALIFORNIA (Oct. 24) – The California (PA) tennis team closed out its fall season with a 5-2 win over Seton Hill on Saturday morning in non-conference play at Roadman Park.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (2-2) and Griffins have played a non-conference dual match during the fall in four of the last five years.
• Cal claimed the doubles point after featuring new pairings at the first and second slots.
• Freshmen
Sarai Salinas and
Marion Sendra Lara posted a 6-4 victory at second doubles, while senior
Peyton Reese and freshman
Emmalyn Kemick earned a 6-2 win at the third position.
• The Vulcans then posted wins in four of the six singles matches to secure the dual victory.
• Sophomore
Fernanda Sandoval Martinez collected a 6-1, 6-0 win at the first position and junior
Izabelle Heacox rallied for a 6-1, 7-6 victory at third singles.
• Lara added a 6-3, 6-1 win at the fourth slot, while Reese posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the fifth position for her first singles win of the year.
