CALABASH, NC (March 14) – The California (PA) women's golf team started its spring campaign in North Carolina with a top-five finish at the three-day Larry and Wally Edgell Battle at Brunswick on Saturday.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans lowered their score in each round and finished fifth in the team standings with a 194-over 1058 (363-353-342).
• Charleston (WV) cruised to the tournament title with a 97-over 961 (323-322-316), topping the seven-team field by 47 strokes.
• Cedarville (OH) and 'B' squad for the Golden Eagles tied for second at 144-over 1008 at the Brunswick Plantation and Golf Resort.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior
Ari Kaser led the team and tied for 12th overall with a 38-over 254 (89-86-79).
• Kaser fired three birdies over the last six holes in the final round on Saturday.
• Sophomore
Amanda Woods shot a 43-over 259 (87-88-84) and tied for 18th place in a field of 39 golfers.
• Woods led the team with 23 pars while in North Carolina.
• UC sophomore Mari Flippa Larsen, the 2025 MEC Individual Champion, earned medalist honors by eight strokes with a seven-over 223 (73-74-76).
NEXT
• Cal is idle for over a week before hosting the Vulcan Fire Classic on March 23-24 at Lone Pine Country Club in Washington, Pennsylvania.
