D2CCA All-Region Teams
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (May 12) – California (PA) freshman designated player
Amarah McCutcheon was chosen to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region Second-Team on Monday afternoon.
McCutcheon was one of three freshmen to receive all-region accolades from the organization. Additionally, she joins
Caleigh Rister (2022) as the only Cal freshmen to garner all-region laurels over the last decade.
A Southmoreland product, McCutcheon paced the team with a .376 average, .462 on-base percentage and .720 slugging percentage. She also finished with team-leading totals of 12 homers, which was just one shy of the freshman school record, and 36 RBI. McCutcheon collected 15 multi-hit games and registered multiple RBI in eight games this spring.
McCutcheon started 44 games as a true freshman, including 27 starts at designated player and 13 starts at catcher. Two weeks ago, she was voted to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West First-Team after ranking second in the league in homers prior to the PSAC Tournament.
The Vulcans have featured at least one selection on the D2CCA all-region teams in three of the last four years.
