CALABASH, N.C. (March 8) – The Vulcans opened their spring season by placing sixth in the team standings on Saturday at the Battle of Brunswick, which was hosted by Davis & Elkins, on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina.
NOTES
• The California (PA) women's golf team carded a 173-over 749 (383-366) at the event, which featured 10 teams.
• Junior
Ari Kaser posted her third top-10 finish of the season by shooting a 24-over 168 (88-80).
• She tied for ninth overall in a field of 50 golfers from primarily NCAA Division II programs.
• Kaser tied for the tournament lead with three birdies, all in the first round, and also collected 14 pars while in North Carolina.
• Senior
Madelyn Myers posted a 40-over 184 (92-92) and tied for 25th place at the event.
• Saginaw Valley State (MI) earned the invitational title by 22 strokes after firing a 77-over 653 (325-328).
• SVSU junior Megan Thiravong captured medalist honors by four strokes with a 15-over 159 (82-77).

• The Vulcans are idle for two weeks before hosting the Fire Classic on March 24-25 at Lone Pine Country Club in Washington, Pennsylvania.
