INDIANAPOLIS (March 15) – In the final event of her collegiate career, California (PA) senior
Gabby Miller competed in the preliminaries of the 100 freestyle on Saturday morning at the NCAA Championships that are part of the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships Festival.
Miller posted a time of 51.88 seconds to finish 51st overall in a field of nearly 60 entries. She entered the morning with a personal record of 51.77 seconds set at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships last month.
Lynn (Fla.) senior Luna Mertins, a native of Germany, won the preliminaries by eight-hundredths of a second with a time of 48.95 seconds.
The top-16 swimmers in the 50 freestyle return to the pool on Saturday night for the finals. The NCAA designates All-America laurels to the top-eight finishers and All-America Honorable Mention status to those that finish Nos. 9-16.
Miller competed in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle at the NCAA Championships this week to become the program's first representative at the national event since 2017.
