LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Nov. 19) – The California (PA) football program placed nine players on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Teams, including a pair of first-team honorees, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior defensive back
Keith Charney and sophomore return specialist
Deontae Williams were selected to the All-PSAC West First-Team by the league coaches. Charney is the only one of this year's honorees to have previously received recognition. Williams also earned distinction on the All-PSAC West Second-Team as a wide receiver.
Charney earned All-PSAC West First-Team status for the second time in his career, as he previously accomplished the feat in 2023 when he was also lauded as the PSAC West Freshman of the Year. He ranks second on the team with a career-high 60 tackles (31 solo) and three interceptions, while also adding 4.0 TFL and five pass break-ups. Charney has collected at least five stops in eight games this year, highlighted by a career-high 12 stops against Frostburg State.
Williams ranks second in NCAA Division II with a PSAC-best 844 combined returns yards, while also pacing the league with 35.9 yards per kick return and 11.7 yards per punt return. He has posted 611 yards and two touchdowns on 17 kickoff returns, plus 233 yards and one score on 19 punt returns. Williams leads the team with 1,307 all-purpose yards and ranks third in the league with 118.82 all-purpose yards per game. The Woodland Hills product also sits second on the team with 454 receiving yards on 32 catches with one touchdown. Williams is the first player since Garry Brown in 2016 to garner All-PSAC West laurels at two different positions in the same year.
In addition to Williams at wide receiver, the Vulcans were represented on the All-PSAC West Second-Team by junior running back
Kendrick Agenor, sophomore center
Logan Greer, junior wide receiver
D'Avay Johnson, junior offensive tackle
Jacob King, sophomore kicker
Harry Radcliffe and sophomore defensive lineman
Sedrick Vessah.
Agenor ranks sixth in the PSAC with 732 rushing yards and is among the league's top 10 with eight rushing touchdowns despite not starting until Week 5. Additionally, he sits third on the team with 26 receptions for 265 yards with one touchdown.
Greer and King have helped anchor the offensive line that replaced four starters from last season. King has started all 11 games at left tackle this fall and is the team's active leader with 24-consecutive starts. Greer has started every game at center after appearing in only one contest as a reserve last season. The Vulcans rank among the top 15 in the country in red-zone offense this year and sit among the top five in the PSAC in fewest sacks allowed.
Johnson has shattered his career highs this year with 44 receptions and 642 receiving yards, both team bests, while also leading the team with three touchdowns. In his first year as a starter, Vessah ranks among the top 10 in the league with 11.5 TFL and 7.5 sacks. The 6-foot-4 sophomore is also tied for the lead in NCAA Division II with four blocked kicks this year.
Radcliffe leads the league with both a .900 field-percentage (15-of-18) and 1.36 field goals per game, both of which rank among the top 10 in the nation. He also paces the team with 84 total points and sits third in the PSAC with 7.6 points per game.
