LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Nov. 17) – For the second time this season, California (PA) junior defensive back
Alexie Sangster, Jr. was tabbed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Sangster set a career high with 16 tackles on Saturday, as the Vulcans closed the regular season with a 35-10 victory at Shippensburg. He also added 1.0 sack in the first meeting between the programs since 2019. He is tied for third in the PSAC with four interceptions, highlighted by a stretch of three-consecutive games with an interception to open the fall. Sangster has recorded at least four stops in every game this season and has combined for 26 tackles over the past two weeks.
Sangster previously received the weekly honor from the league following Week 1. He is the first defensive player to collect multiple weekly awards in the same year since 2022.
The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Nov. 22, when they travel to face No. 17 Virginia Union in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs. Kickoff in Richmond, Virginia, is set for 1 p.m.
