Vulcans compete at regional championships

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 3) – California (PA) senior Teddi Isherwood earned a combined four victories over two days, as a trio of Vulcans competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Championships on Thursday and Friday.

Isherwood, along with fellow seniors Leandra Guldimann and Diletta Maria Mungo, competed in the singles flight while in Bloomsburg. Isherwood and Guldimann also played in the doubles bracket at the regional event.

In singles, Isherwood opened play with 6-4, 6-2 victory over junior Hannah Beitat of IUP – a 2025 All-PSAC West Second-Team selection. The Butler product tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win against freshman Vanessa Mueller of Charleston (WV) in the Round of 32. Isherwood then dropped a 6-2, 6-0 contest in the Round of 16 to sophomore Alissia Kivi of Slippery Rock – a 2025 All-PSAC West First-Team honoree.

Guldimann and Mungo suffered losses in the first round of the singles flight on Thursday.

In doubles, Guldimann and Isherwood advanced to the quarterfinals at the regional championships. The Vulcans captured an 8-0 win in the opening round versus a tandem from Salem before registered an 8-4 victory against a doubles team from IUP in the Round of 16. Guldimann and Mungo fell by an 8-2 margin in the quarterfinals while playing a tandem from Charleston.

The Vulcans return to action next weekend with a pair of dual matches, starting on Oct. 10 in New Jersey at Rutgers-Camden – a NCAA Division III program – at 4 p.m.
