BELLE VERNON, Pa. (Sept. 17) – The California (PA) men's golf team fired a three-under 285 in the final round and won the Vulcan Invitational in a team playoff on Tuesday afternoon at Cedarbrook Golf Course.

NOTES
• The Vulcans shot a 21-over 885 (299-301-285) and registered the lone round of the tournament under par on Tuesday.
• Millersville (294-295-296) tied Cal for the lead in the standings at 21-over after 54 holds on the Gold Course.
• Sophomores Ben Edwards and Chaz Ekoniak both birdied hole nine in the team playoff to secure the first invitational victory for Cal since April 2021.
• Fellow sophomore Gavin Goodrich carded a three-over 219 (76-74-69) to tie for second overall on the individual leader board.
• He tallied the lowest score of the tournament in the final round on Tuesday with a three-under 69.
• Senior Cole Villa finished in sixth place with a four-over 220 (74-72-74) and Ekoniak placed seventh overall at five-six-over 222 (73-79-71).
• Edwards carded a 10-over 226 (78-77-71) to finish in 11th place.
• The event featured over 50 golfers from seven different teams, including five PSAC programs.

• The Vulcans return to action next week at the West Liberty Invitational at the Hannastown Golf Club on Sept. 23-24 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
