Reese Watson finished in a tie for 31st place after carding a nine-over 80 on Saturday at the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Championships.
Watson closed the event with a 15-over 228 (71-77-80) while playing The Jones Course. After bogeying the opening hole on Saturday, he played the next 10 holes at a combined two-over following a birdie on the par-three 11th. Watson finished the event with six birdies, plus one eagle, and 28 pars over three rounds. The Mechanicsburg native posted the best finish of his career at the regional championships (previous best was in 2022, tied for 54th overall) and carded the program's best finish at the event since 2019.
Gannon captured its second regional title in four years after finishing the weekend with a 12-over 864 (294-282-288), which was 23 strokes ahead of the field. Charleston (W.Va.) placed second at the championships with a 35-over 887 (296-290-301) and St. Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.) finished third at 37-over 889 (300-300-289).
Senior Shaunak Rama of Gannon overtook teammate Michael Wareham for medalist honors after firing a one-under 70 in the final round. Rama won the event by two strokes by shooting a two-under 211 (71-70-70).
