KUTZTOWN, Pa. (April 28) – The Vulcans dropped two spots in the team standings on the final day to finish sixth at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Sunday afternoon.
The California (PA) women's golf team posted a 56-over 344 in the final round to close the league meet at 157-over 1021 (335-342-344). Gannon claimed its fifth-consecutive league title with a 55-over 919 (306-310-303), winning the event by a staggering 70 strokes. Mercyhurst finished in second place in the team standings with a 125-over 989 (322-336-331) and Millersville was two strokes back in third place at 127-over 991 (336-319-336).
Junior
Keegan Selinsky posted a 10-over 82 on Sunday to finish the tournament tied for 10th overall at 32-over 248 (84-82-82). She led the team with four birdies at the event, including a birdie on the par-four 1st in the final round. Selinsky has carded back-to-back top-10 finishes at the PSAC Championships after placing fifth last spring at the rain-shortened event.
Classmate
Madelyn Myers shot a 15-over 87 in the final round and tied for 15th place with a 34-over 250 (81-81-87). She finished the league event as the team leader with 24 pars over three days. Senior
Morgan Hughes tied for 23rd overall with a 44-over 260 (86-90-84) after carding a 12-over 84 on Sunday.
Sophomore
Ari Kaser finished with a 19-over 91 and tied for 27th place at 47-over 263 (93-89-91), while freshman
Jessica Ricciardi finished 44th overall with a 62-over 278 (90-92-96) following a 24-over 96 in the final round.
Gannon junior Ditte Peterson repeated as the individual champion at the event. She earned medalist honors over a teammate by three strokes with a two-over 218 (71-74-73) after firing an impressive 14 birdies.
