KUTZTOWN, Pa. (April 26) – The Vulcans sit fourth in the team standings after the opening round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Friday afternoon.
The California (PA) women's golf team shot a 47-over 335 while playing at the Berkleigh Golf Club. Four-time, defending-league champion Gannon holds a 14-stroke lead after firing an 18-over 306 on Friday. Mercyhurst ranks second in the team standings with a 34-over 322 and Kutztown sits third with a 44-over 332.
Junior
Madelyn Myers leads the team and is tied for 11th overall on the individual leader board with a 10-over 82. She carded a team-best 11 pars in the opening round on Friday. Myers previously played at the event and course during the 2022 PSAC Championships.
Sophomore
Ari Kaser shot an 11-over 83 in the opening round and sits in a tie for 13th place, while junior
Keegan Selinsky is tied for 18th overall with a 12-over 84 at the league championships. Senior
Morgan Hughes posted a 14-over 86 on Friday and sits in a tie for 27th place while making her debut the conference meet. Freshman
Jessica Ricciardi finished the opening round in a tie for 35th overall with an 18-over 90.
Gannon junior Ditte Petersen holds a four-stroke lead on the individual leader board after the opening round by shooting a one-under 71, highlighted by seven birdies.
The Vulcans continue play at the PSAC Championships tomorrow, Saturday, April 27, with tee times starting at 11 a.m.
