WHEELING, W.Va. (April 23) – The California (PA) men's golf team closed the regular season at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Preview hosted by West Liberty on Tuesday at The Jones Course at Oglebay Resort.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans finished 16th in the team standings with a 69-over 637 (319-318).
• Charleston (W.Va.) captured the tournament title by two strokes with a 30-over 598 (297-301).
• Gannon placed second at the event with a 32-over 600 (291-309) and Glenville State finished third with a 34-over 602 (301-301).
• The event featured golfers from 26 teams from both the Atlantic and East Regions.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior
Reese Watson led the team and tied for 26th place with a 12-over 154 (77-77).
• He tallied a pair of birdies in the opening round and finished the tournament with 22 pars.
• Fellow senior
Brandon Singer tied for 47th overall on the individual leader board with a 16-over 158 (78-80).
• Glenville State freshman Benjamin Fernandez cruised to medalist honors by eight strokes with a five-under 137 (67-70) after totaling only four bogies in two rounds.

• The team and individual qualifiers for the NCAA Regional Championships will be announced on Friday, April 26.
