WEST CHESTER, Pa. (April 2) – The Vulcans finished fourth in the team standings at the rain-shortened Dr. Edwin Cottrell Invitational hosted by West Chester on Tuesday.
TEAM NOTES
• The California (PA) men's golf team posted a 16-over 296 while playing at the Penn Oaks Golf Club.
• Goldey-Beacom (Del.) earned the tournament title by one stroke after firing a six-over 286 on Monday.
• The host Golden Rams placed second in the team standings with a seven-over 287 and Millersville finished third at 12-over 292.
• The event was shortened to 18 holes due to rain and course conditions despite the attempt to play at least nine holes on Tuesday.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior
Reese Watson carded a two-under 68 to tie for third overall on in the individual leader board.
• He has been the team's top finisher in five events this year and has registered a top-five finish four times.
• Fellow senior
Connor Alfieri added a top-15 finish at West Chester, shooting a four-over 74 to tie for 13th place.
• Competing as an individual, junior
Jack Hritsko finished in a tie for seventh overall at two-over 72.
• Millersville freshman Timothy Peters claimed medalist honors by one stroke with a four-under 66.
NEXT
• Cal is idle for nearly two weeks before competing at the Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational hosted by IUP on April 15-16 at the Indiana Country Club.
