WASHINGTON, Pa. (March 26) – The California (PA) women's golf team opened its spring season by finishing second in the standings on Tuesday while hosting the Vulcan Fire Classic at Lone Pine Country Club.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans posted a 134-over 710 (352-358) over two rounds at the par-72 course.
• West Chester claimed the invitational title by four strokes with a 130-over 706 (357-349) behind four top-10 golfers.
• Mercyhurst finished third in the team standings after shooting a 152-over 728 (370-358).
• The tournament field consisted of seven teams, including six PSAC members.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Junior
Keegan Selinsky placed second overall on the individual leader board with a 25-over 169 (78-91).
• She was playing her first tournament since mid-September after missing the last two events of the fall campaign due to injury.
• Sophomore
Ari Kaser carded a 29-over 173 (90-83) to tie for fourth place at the event.
• She missed the entire fall season due to injury and was playing her first collegiate rounds since last April.
• Junior
Madelyn Myers also posted a top-15 finish by shooting a 38-over 182 (88-94) to place 13th overall.
• West Chester freshman Morgan Kunze earned medalist honors by one stroke with a 24-over 168 (87-81).

• The Vulcans return to action at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational hosted by West Chester on April 1-2 at the Penn Oaks Golf Club.
