BELLE VERNON, Pa. (Sept. 3) – The California (PA) men's golf team ranks fourth following two rounds with a 30-over 606 (298-308) while hosting the Vulcan Invitational on Sunday at Cedarbrook Golf Course.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans rank fourth in the team standings after playing 36 holes on Sunday.
• Cal is hosting the 15-school tournament over Labor Day weekend with eight PSAC members playing at the event.
• Gannon holds a 10-stroke lead in the team standings with an eight-over 584 (289-295).
• Pitt-Johnstown sits in second place with an 18-over 594 (301-293) and Millersville ranks third in the team standings with a 23-over 599 (296-303).
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Freshman
Anthony DePietress paces the team and is tied for 13th place with a five-over 149 (73-76) while making his college debut.
• Senior
Reese Watson is one stroke back of DePietress at six-over 150 (74-76) and is tied for 20th overall.
• DePietress and freshman
Gavin Goodrich both made their college debuts while appearing in the Vulcan lineup.
• Junior
Cole Villa, who is playing as an individual, leads all Cal players and is tied for fifth place with a two-over 146 (74-72).
• Gannon senior Ryan Ferry holds a one-stroke lead after firing an even-par 144 (71-73) on Sunday.
