STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 26) – Led by a pair of top-10 individual finishes, the California (PA) men's golf team finished third in the team standings at the West Liberty Invitational on Tuesday.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans shot a 30-over 894 (299-290-305) over three rounds at the Steubenville Country Club.
• Cal fired the second-lowest score in the second round with a two-over 290.
• Goldey-Beacom (Del.) captured the team title by 13 strokes with a three-over 867 (292-285-290).
• Glenville State placed second in team standings with a 16-over 880 (287-297-296) followed by Cal and Davis & Elkins at 34-over 894 (303-295-300).
• The event featured seven teams primarily from the MEC and PSAC.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior
Connor Alfieri tied for fifth overall on the individual leader board with a three-over 219 (74-71-74).
• Classmate
Reese Watson was one stroke back at four-over 220 (71-72-77) and tied for eighth place at the event.
• Freshman Julian Mogenson played as an individual while in Ohio and tied for 20th overall with a 10-over 226 (72-72-80).
• Glenville State freshman Benjamin Fernandez earned medalist honors by three strokes with a two-under 214 (68-69-77).

• The Vulcans return to action next weekend on Oct. 6-7 when they compete at the Evann Parker Memorial Invitational, hosted by Mercyhurst, at Lake View Country Club in North East, Pennsylvania.
