CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Sept. 12) – Paced by freshman Gavin Goodrich, the Vulcans tied for sixth in the team standings at the Charleston Invitational on Tuesday following three rounds at the Edgewood Country Club.

TEAM NOTES
• The California (PA) men's golf team shot a 48-over 888 (301-291-296) and tied UVa-Wise in the standings.
• The host Golden Eagles earned the invitational title by 10 strokes by carding a 12-over 852 (285-280-287).
• Glenville State placed second at the event with a 22-over 862 (290-288-284), while West Liberty and West Virginia Wesleyan tied for third at 26-over 866.
• The field featured nearly 100 golfers from 13 schools, primarily from the MEC.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Goodrich led the team and tied for 20th overall with a nine-over 219 (74-75-70) while in his second career tournament.
• Goodrich collected nine birdies at Charleston, including four birdies in the final round.
• Senior Connor Alfieri tied for 25th place while in West Virginia after shooting a 10-over 220 (82-65-73).
• Alfieri fired a five-under 65 in the second round, which ranked as the second-lowest round of the entire tournament.
• UVa-Wise junior Tzu-Wei Huang earned medalist honors by two strokes with a nine-under 201 (64-66-71).

NEXT
• The Vulcans are idle for two weeks before playing at the West Liberty Invitational on Sept. 25-26 held at the Steubenville Country Club in Steubenville, Ohio.
