NORTH EAST, Pa. (Oct. 7) – In their first action in nearly a month, the Vulcans placed ninth in the team standings at the Evann Parker Memorial Invitational hosted by Mercyhurst at Lake View Country Club on Saturday.
TEAM NOTES
• The California (PA) women's golf team shot a 181-over 757 (379-378) while playing without its No. 1 player.
• Gannon earned the tournament title by 15 strokes with a 46-over 622 (313-309) after firing the lowest score in each round.
• Walsh (Ohio) placed second in the team standings with a 61-over 637 (318-319) and the host Lakers finished third at 83-over 659 (321-338).
• The field featured golfers from 10 different schools, including six PSAC programs.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior
Morgan Hughes was team's top scorer at 34-over 178 (88-90) and tied for 33rd overall.
• Junior
Madelyn Myers finished in 40th place with a 39-over 183 (88-95) over two days.
• Gannon junior Andrea Martinez earned medalist honors after winning the first playoff hole against sophomore Sydney Hugo of Walsh. Both golfers tied for the individual lead at six-over 150 after 36 holes.

• The Vulcans conclude the fall schedule on Oct. 15-16 by competing at the Clarion Fall Invitational in Brookville, Pennsylvania, at Pinecrest Country Club.
