NORTH EAST, Pa. (Oct. 7) – California (PA) senior Reese Watson earned medalist honors for the first time in his career on Saturday while playing at the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational at Lake View Country Club.

TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans finished third in the team standings with a 25-over 601 (298-303).
• Gannon claimed the invitational title by four strokes with a 10-over 586 (297-298).
• The host Lakers placed second with a 14-over 590 (298-303) and the Gannon 'B' squad placed fourth at 26-over 602 (306-296).
• The field featured golfers from 13 different schools, including eight PSAC programs.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Watson fired a four-under 140 (70-70) over two days to win the event by three strokes.
• He collected a combined seven birdies, including four on the front nine on Friday, and played just three holes over par.
• Watson is the first player to capture medalist honors since April 2021, also at Lake View Country Club.
• Senior Brandon Singer tied for 14th overall with a five-over 149 (75-74) and classmate Aidan Bushey finished at seven-over 151 (74-77) and tied for 20th place.

• Cal closes out the fall schedule in two weeks at the PSAC Championships on Oct. 20-22 at the Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
