Don Hansen All-America Teams
BROOKFIELD, Ill. (Jan. 10) – The California (PA) tandem of senior offensive lineman
Noel Brouse (Slatington, Pa./Parkland) and junior wide receiver
JaQuae Jackson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) received Don Hansen All-America Honorable Mention on Tuesday afternoon.
Brouse started all 11 games at left tackle this season and repeated as a First-Team Academic All-American last month, becoming the program's first two-time first-time selection. He earned second-team all-region status from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) and All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West First-Team laurels in his second year with the program. Brouse helped anchor an offensive line that allowed the Vulcans to rank among the top five in the league in scoring offense, total offense and passing offense.
Jackson ranked among the top 15 in the country in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and receptions in his second year as a starter. He finished with 1,178 receiving yards on 77 catches with 12 receiving touchdowns, plus scored two rushing touchdowns. Jackson eclipsed the century mark in receiving yards seven times this fall and scored multiple touchdowns in five games. The Pittsburgh native also received All-PSAC West First-Team accolades and was a D2CCA Second-Team All-Region selection.
The
Don Hansen All-America Teams carry out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away in 2010. Hansen started and published
Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
