D2Football.com Elite 100 List

LANCASTER, Pa. (Dec. 29) – California sophomore return specialist Deontae Williams was tabbed to the D2Football.com Elite 100 Squad List on Monday afternoon, marking his fifth All-America recognition this season.

The Elite 100 utilized by D2Football.com features First-Team and Second-Team All-Americans along with a Squad List that serves as All-America Honorable Mention. Williams is the third specialist in program history, and the first return specialist, to earn All-America laurels from the organization.

Williams ranked second in NCAA Division II with 912 combined return yards, while also sitting among the top 10 in the country with averages of 34.0 yards per kickoff return and 11.7 yards per punt return. He registered three combined returns for touchdowns to become the first player with multiple kickoff returns for a touchdown in a season in at least two decades

A native of Pittsburgh, Williams previously was named a Second-Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Associated Press (AP), and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA), in addition to earning All-America Honorable Mention by Don Hansen. Williams led the team with 1,438 all-purpose yards this fall after finishing second on the team with 517 receiving yards on 37 catches.
