CALIFORNIA (Jan. 6) – The California (PA) football team placed four players on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior running back Kendrick Agenor, senior defensive Rafiqe Hilliard, sophomore tight end Jake Layhue and junior Solomon Ortiz earned the honor from the organization. Hilliard received the laurel for the third time in his career, while Ortiz repeated as a recipient of the accolade.

Agenor led the team with 975 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns while appearing in all 13 games with nine starts. He holds a 3.85 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) while majoring in sociology.

Hilliard appeared in all 13 games, including a pair of starts, and finished the year with four tackles and one interception. He completed his bachelor's degree last month in art studio with a 3.80 GPA and earned an associate degree in digital media technology.

Layhue played in all 13 games with six starts this fall, posting four receptions and scoring two rushing touchdowns. He maintains a 3.73 GPA while pursuing a degree in management.

Ortiz started all 13 games on the offensive line in 2025 and shifted from right tackle to left tackle in the NCAA Playoffs due to injuries. He holds a 3.56 GPA while majoring in management with a minor in management information systems.

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA and have played in 90 percent of the team's games or started 66 percent of the team's games. Additionally, each institution is limited to eight nominees in the sport of football.

Agenor was chosen as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and advances to the national ballot with the CSC Academic All-America Teams scheduled to be announced in three weeks.
