CALIFORNIA (March 4) - Following a victory in the quarterfinals, Cal U continues play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament on Saturday, March 5, by facing Shepherd in the semifinals hosted by Kutztown with tip-off set for 1 p.m.

Kutztown is selling tickets for the PSAC Tournament at the cost of $10 for adults, $5 for students and PSAC students with valid ID are admitted for free. Spectators are able to purchase tickets in advance for each day at the links provided below.

The Kutztown Sports Information Office will provide live statistics for the game at the link above. Live updates will also be available throughout the game on Twitter. There also will be live audio via WCAL of the post-season contest, while KUTV will produce a webstream of the semifinals.

STORYLINES
• Last Time Out: The Vulcans rolled past Edinboro on Wednesday evening with a 72-48 victory in the quarterfinals of the PSAC Tournament. Cal U featured four players in double-digits with Dejah Terrell leading the way with 20 points and nine rebounds.
• Cal U enters the contest having won nine-consecutive games and has held five of their opponents under 50 points during the streak.
• The Vulcans are making their seventh appearance in the semifinals of the conference tournament since the 2009-10 season and hold a 5-1 record in the semifinals entering play on Saturday.

PSAC TOURNAMENT
• Cal U is the No. 1 seed in the PSAC Tournament and will face No. 3 seed Shepherd in the opening game of the semifinals, while No. 2 seed Gannon will take on top-seeded and host Kutztown.
• Kutztown was the highest remaining seed in the PSAC East as it will serve as host for the semifinals and championship on Saturday and Sunday.
 
SCOUTING THE VULCANS
• After being named PSAC West Coach of the Year for the third time in her career, head coach Jess Strom leads the Vulcans to the semifinals of the league tournament for the fifth time since 2015. She enters the weekend with 235 career wins and is the all-time winningest coach at Cal U.
• The double-threat of Terrell earned her both PSAC West Athlete of the Year and Defensive Athlete of the Year in her first year with the program. She is only one of three players in league history to receive both major awards in the same season. Terrell also earned All-PSAC West First-Team status.
• Junior standout Ciaira Loyd was selected as a PSAC West First-Team honoree in her first year with the program. She ranks second in the league with 6.0 assists per game and is only the sixth player in the last three-plus decades to average 6.0 assists per game in a season.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
• In her eighth year as head coach, Jenna Eckleberry enters the contest at 117-97 overall with an 82-72 mark in conference play at Shepherd.
• Shepherd features three All-PSAC East honorees as junior Abby Beeman was named East Athlete of the Year by the league coaches. She paces the PSAC and leads the country in both assists per game at 7.8 and total assists at 235. Beeman also leads the Rams and ranks second in the league at 19.0 points per game while ranking fifth in the country with 84 total steals.
• The Rams lead the league in scoring offense at 69.7 points per game while sitting second in the PSAC with a .440 field-goal percentage. Shepherd is averaging 13.6 assists per game, which ranks fourth in the conference, and is averaging 8.6 steals per game.
 
SERIES
• Cal U holds a 5-1 advantage in the series in recent years, as the Vulcans won five-straight meetings before falling to the Rams this year in the regular season.
• Shepherd joined the PSAC before the 2019-20 season and Strom holds a 4-1 record against the Rams.
• The programs will be meeting in the post-season for the first time since the 2007-08 season when the Vulcans captured an 86-71 victory in the NCAA Tournament.
