STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Feb. 11) – The California University of Pennsylvania men's track & field team reached nine league-qualifying marks on Friday while competing at the Fastrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Freshman
Logan Pfister (Fishertown, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) placed second in the high jump with a season-best mark of 2.03 meters (6-8.0 feet) on his third attempt. He was just one-hundredth of a meter shy of reaching the NCAA provisional mark in the event. Pfister now boasts the best height in the high jump in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) this winter.
Senior
Jalen Cloud (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski) finished in fourth place in the triple jump with a distance of 13.82 meters (45-4.25 feet), which reached the league standard, on his sixth attempt. Freshman
Aaron McPherson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) set a season-best distance in the long jump on Friday with a mark of 6.48 meters (21-3.25 feet) on his third leap.
Junior
Tymir Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa./Overbrook) improved his conference-qualifying mark in the 60-meter dash while in New York. He placed eighth overall in the finals of the 60 meters with a personal-best time of 7.06 seconds after posting a time of 7.07 seconds in the preliminaries. Jackson posted a PSAC-qualifying time of 22.52 seconds in the 200 meters at the Fastrack National Invitational.
Fellow junior
Kristopher Lytle (Columbia, Md./Atholton) also reached the conference standard in the 60 meters on Friday by posting a time of 7.10 seconds in the preliminaries.
Sophomore
Noah Bernarding (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) improved his PSAC-qualifying mark in the 800-meter run by nearly two full seconds after crossing the finish line with a time of 1 minute, 56.04 seconds to place 10th overall in a field of over 100 entries.

Avery Boea-Gisler (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic), Cloud and Jackson finished in third place with a time of 3:25.05.
Individually, Boea-Gisler reached the league standard in the 400-meter dash after rounding the track in 50.11 seconds to reach the conference-qualifying standard.
Senior
John Franklin, Jr. (Pittsburgh, Shaler) posted a PSAC-qualifying mark of 8.71 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and junior
Michael Berdar (Centerville, Pa./Beth-Center) reached the conference-qualifying standard in the high jump with a height of 1.85 meters (6-0.75 feet).
Cal U returns to action on Feb. 19 when it competes at multiple events in Ohio, as members of the team will compete at both the Kent State Tune Up and Mount Union Raider Tune-Up.
