Singles Bracket I Doubles Bracket

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 8) – The California (PA) doubles team of Leandra Guldimann (Oberweningen, Switzerland/Kantonsschule Zurich Nord) and Maria Del Mar Ojeda (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Americano de Cali) advanced to the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Individual Championships on Saturday.

Guldimann and Ojeda earned a 9-8 (7-5) victory over the tandem of Jennifer McDonald and Alexis Quackenbush from Bloomsburg in the opening round. The Vulcans then dropped an 8-1 match to top-seeded Karolin Kirchtag and Natalie Kmoskova from IUP in the quarterfinals of the doubles bracket.

In the opening round of singles play, Ojeda suffered a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Nuria Martin Lopez of Slippery Rock and Guldimann was downed by a 6-1, 6-1 count by Roisin Murphy of Mercyhurst.

The league event was originally scheduled for last weekend before inclement weather delayed the championships for a week.
