Vulcans tabbed 12th in preseason PSAC poll

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 19) – The California University of Pennsylvania women's cross country team was chosen to finish 12th in the preseason Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) poll, which was released by the league office on Thursday afternoon.

Edinboro was chosen the preseason favorite after winning five of the last seven league championships. The Fighting Scots also won the NCAA Atlantic Regional title each year from 2017-19, but will have to replace standout Stefanie Parsons. Seton Hill placed second in the preseason poll after advancing to the NCAA National Championships in 2019. Lock Haven, Slippery Rock and Shippensburg completed the top five in the preseason rankings.

In the spring, Cal U placed 10th overall in the team standings at the PSAC Championships while competing for only the second time during the year. The Vulcans have featured at least one runner on the All-PSAC Teams in seven-consecutive seasons, which is the longest streak in program history.

The Vulcans open the campaign when they host the Marty Uher Invitational at Roadman Park on Sept. 4.
