Hudanick earns honor for second time

CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

CALIFORNIA (June 10) – California University of Pennsylvania senior offensive lineman Eric Hudanick (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) was a repeat selection to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team on Thursday afternoon.

With his selection, Hudanick is now eligible for consideration on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Teams that will be announced next month. The Vulcans have featured at least one academic all-district selection 12 times since 2008.

Hudanick earned the academic all-district honor for the second time in his career after previously receiving the laurels in 2019. He also was one of 20 players from NCAA Division II named a semifinalist for the 2020 William V. Campbell Trophy in the fall.

A Seneca Valley product, Hudanick ranks second on the team with 32 career starts, including 22-consecutive starts at right tackle since the 2018 campaign. He appeared in all 12 games with 10 starts at left tackle as a true freshman. Hudanick helped the Vulcans feature a 1,000-yard rusher in each of the last two seasons after the program made the second of back-to-back NCAA Playoff appearances in 2017.

Hudanick earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in finance in December 2020 while maintaining a 3.51 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). He currently is pursuing a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in management and holds a 3.77 GPA while in graduate school.

A three-year starter, Hudanick will be returning to the Vulcans to use his final season of eligibility in 2021.

To qualify for the academic all-district honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution. Nominees must also be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials, but career statistics were used for the selection of this year's team due to the majority of teams not playing in the fall of 2020. The district consists of all schools in Super Region One, which includes the PSAC, Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), Mountain East Conference (MEC) and Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10).
