• The Vulcans are making their 16th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 18 years and hold an all-time record of 32-13 in the NCAA Tournament.

ABOUT THE VULCANS
• In her eighth season as head coach, Jess Strom ranks second in school history with 190 victories behind four 25-win seasons in the last five years.
• Cal U ranks second in the Atlantic Region, behind only Glenville State, with both 13.9 steals per game and a plus-9.40 turnover margin per game.
• Senior Seairra Barrett is the only player in the Atlantic Region to rank among the top 15 in the region this season in scoring, rebounds and steals.

ABOUT THE PIONEERS
• A former player at Glenville State, Kim Stephens has guided the program to an 85-10 record in three seasons as head coach and back-to-back MEC Championships.
• The Pioneers lead all NCAA divisions in scoring offense with 103.1 points per game and pace the country with 384 three-pointers made and 1,206 three-pointers attempted.
• Junior Emily Stoller, an All-MEC First-Team selection, paces the team in scoring with 18.4 points per game while playing just 20.5 minutes per game.

ABOUT THE SERIES
• Cal U and Glenville State are meeting in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time with the Vulcans winning the last four games (2003, 2004, 2013, 2017).
• The Vulcans and Pioneers have played in the regular season just once in the last decade with Cal U posting a home victory during the 2012-13 campaign.
• Cal U and Glenville State met in the NCAA Tournament in three-consecutive seasons from 2002-04, each being for the regional championship.

HOME COURT
The Pioneers enter play on a 21-game winning streak and are hosting the NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament for the first time since 2014. Additionally, Glenville State boasts a 38-0 combined record at the Waco Center over the past three seasons. The Pioneers last suffered a home loss on Feb. 20, 2016 when head coach Kim Stephens was serving as assistant coach at Sacramento State.

HIGH OCTANE
Glenville State is the only women's basketball team in all NCAA divisions this season to average over 90 points per game and average a staggering 103.1 points per game. The Pioneers have eclipsed the century mark 18 times this season, while their lowest point total came in a 98-77 loss at Fairmont State on Nov. 28. Glenville State ranked second in NCAA Division II last year in scoring offense after previously leading the country in scoring in each of the previous two years.

COMING HOME
Freshman Lauren Bennett made her first career start last night against Charleston and set career highs in virtually every category while playing 32 minutes. She finished with seven points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in the victory. Bennett is a native of neighboring Buckhannon, West Virginia, and helped lead her scholastic team to a state runner-up finish in each of the previous two seasons.

LINE CHANGE
Glenville State repeated as the MEC Champions this season despite featuring eight seniors on last year's roster. The Pioneers utilize a heavy rotation of players, as 12 players average between 8-22 minutes per game and seven players score at least 9.0 points per game. Guard Re'Shawna Stone was named the 2019 MEC Freshman of the Year after averaging 17.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

MOVING UP
Redshirt senior Seairra Barrett scored 17 points in last night's victory despite being limited to just two minutes in the first half due to foul trouble. She moved into fifth place on the school's single-season scoring list with 647 points, surpassing the total set by Sara McKinney in 2004 when the Vulcans captured their first NCAA National Championship. Barrett sits among the top-five all-time in school history in both scoring and rebounds.

FAMILIAR PLACE
Cal U head coach Jess Strom is making her 11th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in her 13 years with the program. She has posted a 12-4 mark in the tournament while head coach of the Vulcans, highlighted by the 2015 NCAA National Championship. Strom has guided the program to at least the regional semifinals in five of six appearances in the NCAA Tournament as head coach.

FAST AND FURIOUS
The Pioneers lead NCAA Division II with 384 three-pointers made, 12.0 three-pointers per game and 1,206 three-pointers attempted. However, Glenville State sits No. 141 overall in the country (301 teams) with a .318 three-point percentage. Junior Emily Stoller leads the team and ranks eighth in the nation with 93 three-pointers made. Five different players for the Pioneers have attempted at least 100 three-pointers this season.

STEPPING UP
Senior Abbey Sporio and sophomore Bianca Jasper combined for 38 points last night after shooting 13-of-23 from the floor and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. The duo scored 31 points in the first half when Barrett was forced to the bench with two fouls. Jasper set a career high with 20 points in the victory and Sporio scored in double-digits for the 10th-straight game.
