Box ScoreANDERSON, S.C. (March 5) – The No. 15 California University of Pennsylvania tennis team earned an 8-1 victory over Anderson (S.C.), a member of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), while opening its Spring Break trip to the Carolinas on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Vulcans improve to 3-2 on the season in dual matches. Meanwhile, the Trojans who are ranked No. 10 in the Southeast region, fall to 6-4 overall.

Jasi Witherspoon (Macon, Ga./Howard) and freshman
Holly Bennett (Kingston, United Kingdom/Sussex Downs-Lewes) recorded an 8-2 victory against Alexandra Ebner and Jennifer Holcombe at the second position. The tandem of juniors
Veronika Mikulis (Otterburn Park, Quebec/Heritage Regional) and
Alyssa Savill (Holbrook, Australia/Billabong) closed the session with an 8-2 win over Abigail Gregory and Elizabeth Beachy at the third slot.
The Vulcans opened singles action with No. 43 Shaw posting a 6-4, 7-5 victory against Welborn at first singles before No. 24 Dimmer fell 1-6, 2-6 to Bruning at second position. Witherspoon tallied a 6-3, 6-3 win against Ebner at the third slot and Mikulis earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Holcombe at fourth singles. Bennett claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win against Nikkola Wichenko at the fifth position before Savill registered a 6-3, 7-5 victory against Gregory at the sixth slot.
Cal U returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, March 6, against Pfeiffer (N.C.) in Misenheimer, North Carolina, at 10 a.m.
